Sony has released a new trailer for the upcoming hack and slash prequel God of War: Ascension. It stars the first game?s antagonist and son of Zeus himself, Ares. Ares was the original ?god of war?, before Kratos appeared and brutally murdered him and inevitably took his throne.
The trailer also shows off some of the combat in the game?s multiplayer mode, presenting Ares? minions. Each have a unique ability bestowed upon them by Ares. You may not be surprised to see some violence unfold, blood splatter and some things burning.

God of War: Ascension will be smashing its way exclusively onto PS3 on the following dates:
- NA: March 12, 2013
- EU: March 13, 2013
- AU: March 14, 2013
- UK: March 15, 2013
